Concluding Activity

Concluding Activities will facilitate you to summarise what you have learned in each Learning Unit. They are designed to be done as you finish each unit and will provide evidence and examples of your development for your Flying Start NHS portfolio. The evidence collected in the Flying Start NHS portfolio can be easily adapted for purposes of professional registration and for NHS KSF development reviews.

The aim of this unit is that you will be able to communicate confidently and competently with patients, carers, colleagues and other agencies using a range of skills and approaches in increasingly complex situations.

The skills which you should now be able to demonstrate are, the ability to:

Utilise a range of skills that support effective communication within any healthcare setting.
Appraise the methods used by the multi-professional team to provide effective communication.
Identify your continuing learning needs in relation to communication skills.

For this concluding activity make an entry in your portfolio which summarise your development and indicates the learning needs you will be taking forward in your Personal Development Plan for the coming year.
